The Real World: Bilingual Children

What I know about bilingual children is that there are children in this world that are raised by learning more than one language. I know that this somewhat of a positive and negative thing for your child. What I want to know what the side effects of being bilingual are and how do they affect our children today. After reading this article I learned that parents shouldn’t fear if their children are exposed to more than one language because it is better for them to know one more language. What I still want to know is can being bilingual affect a children’s education a lot or a little.

Body Piercing & Health Issues

Knowing today that many young people have piercings and other kinds of body art is a popular type of tradition today. I know that today there are many people, young and old, that pierce certain parts of their body. What I want to know if it is dangerous to your health because many people today do not look to healthy with the piercings. After reading the article I learned that body piercings can lead to HIV, hepatitis B and C, tetanus, and other types of diseases if not done properly or at the right place. I also learned that infections grow from piercings depending on how healthy you are. What I still want to know is why body piercing is banned from certain states.

Before and After
Before reading the article "Camera footage shows fatal Mexico subway shooting" I wanted to know what exactly happened at the subway station. Why there was a shooting and if anyone was injured or killed. I knew that Mexico does have a high crime rate so its no surprise of what can happen over there. After reading the article, I found out that two people died because the suspect used a gun (a.38 special handgun) as a weapon to get away. I wanted to know how this man "Hernandez Castillo" was able to do all this so easy, like there wasn't. any security to stop him at all.

What happend?
There was a shooting in the Mexico subway station that left two people dead and eight wounded.

Who was involved?
The mexican government was involved in the arrest of Luis Felipe Hernandez Castillo.

When did this happen.
The article does mention the date; the date was on Saturday september 19th 2009.

college tips

The handout in my opinion did have some quiet use full information for people that most likely came from other countries. The topic was quiet interesting though I will admit that but there were a lot of information that i already known from hearing and listening to my friends and other people that I knew that already went and finished college. The college are helpfull though in some cases. They did tell me about things I knew but they also told me about certain things that I should of been more aware of. I believe that depending on your college experience, if its alot or a little, that you should read the tips, and apply them to your everyday experience.

Before and After Reading.

Before reading this texting article, I knew that texting on the move can be Dangerous. What I did not know about texting on the move was that people actualy bump into things becasue they do not pay attention to what their doing or where their going. I also learned that because of their lack of attention lead to their deaths. I agree to what Dr. Patrick Walsh said about just looking around while you text. By doing this, there will be less accidents and less problems like bumping into a light post. After reading this article, I havent learned anything about texting on the move because of my experience with texting. I have been texting for sometime now and I never ever bumped into a pole.

Texting

I have been texting for the past 3 years and I am going to say that this article should only comply to the people who just got into texting. This article describes the dangers of texting, the accidents that cant happen because of texting, and ways to prevent it. I my self have not had any accidents ever since i started texting, I text minimum at least 20-30 texts an hour. I text while I walk, sit, run, drive, or even shower. The reason why i never gotten to any accidents is because I always am aware of my surroundings even when I'm so focused into something else. I will admit that texting is a very addictive way of communicating, but it is also a very fast and easy way once you get use to it. I do understand that not paying attention to the things that are important can cause mistakes and accidents to happen, but that is why I have developed my own way being care full and aware of my surroundings while i text.
