Knowing today that many young people have piercings and other kinds of body art is a popular type of tradition today. I know that today there are many people, young and old, that pierce certain parts of their body. What I want to know if it is dangerous to your health because many people today do not look to healthy with the piercings. After reading the article I learned that body piercings can lead to HIV, hepatitis B and C, tetanus, and other types of diseases if not done properly or at the right place. I also learned that infections grow from piercings depending on how healthy you are. What I still want to know is why body piercing is banned from certain states.

Would you ever consider getting piercings of this nature?
ReplyDeleteDiseases from piercings sound scary.
ReplyDeletehellllll noooo am i ever gona get a piercing, i dont want know HIV or STD or any sort of disease in me because of piercings!!
ReplyDeleteWhat I want to know is, who would get the conch? That piercing looks very painful!
ReplyDeletelolol.. You can only get HIV or STD if the needle they use is dirty. You should make sure that it is a new needle or at least the needle is sterilized.
ReplyDeletei really dont see the point of body piercing having tons of piercing in the ear, face or anywhere on your body is retarded i think its sometimes really ugly that people do that i understand have the lobe pierced everyone has that but having 5 on 1 ear thats way to much does anyone else agree?
ReplyDeleteI dont like body peircing at all either, I dont mind that tatoos though, thats something i would probly do.
ReplyDeleteit's a personal choice, just like some people choose to wear certain clothes or talk in a certain way or behave in a certain way. it would be judgemental and narrow-minded of me to call anyone's personal choice 'retarded' or 'ugly', simply because it isn't in line with my own ideas...
ReplyDeletei have piercings, a tattoo, and plan to get more of both, though i decide for myself where i think they look good, or what kind looks good, and i don't judge people who don't have them. it's painful and can be scarey, but that doesn't make it stupid or distasteful. i've seen people who have more than i personally would ever get, or have tattoos that i don't personally like or agree with, but that's the person's choice, not mine. they may regret later, or they may not, but judging them makes me merely opinionated and judgemental, not right in some way.
before crying 'HIV' and 'hepatitis', realise that you can get these things everytime you go to hospital or the dentist, if those places aren't kept sterile and properly managed. any wound can infect, pierced or in other ways obtained, it's up to the patient to take care of them, the piercer to provide sterile materials and tools and jewellery, and environment.
piercings/tattoos do not put you at any greater risk of anything negative than any other aspect of life will. you risk all those diseases and more just by having sex, some of them by kissing or sharing a water bottle, even shaking hands with someone. there is unneccissary hype about the nature of risk with these choices, mostly by people who haven't made this choice. if you're safe and sensible, there is nothing to worry about.
have had 13 piercings, and one tattoo so far, all hurt, none of them have infected or given me a disease. some of the piercings i've removed, as I've chosen, and they've healed over. most people compliment me. others are at least polite enough not to call me names for my personal choice.
